Well it’s a new year, and I have decided to update my blog daily. Tough challenge but I believe I can do it.
I will be telling you everything about, my nanny life and my personal life, (without every mentioning any names of course) So lets go……
It is the new year 2010 and this man who I live with otherwise know as the “flatmate” is away and I am about to pick him up from the airport. Oh yes he is cute, very cute! ‘6′ 2 tall dark and handsome. He will come home and everything will be ready for him, fresh bananas, apples, and his favourite brand of fresh bread, Burgen Soy-Lin “for womens well being” and of course his work pants picked up from the dry cleaning (yes I dropped it off and mended the slit in the hip pocket as well) Oh and lets not forget dinner. Bill’s Granger “linguine with yellow-fin tuna, capers and olives” plus some fresh prawns. Ummmm…..The things I do.
It’s is now 7.30pm and plane arrives at 8pm. Text message
FLATMATE: Hey, I justed landed early but still heading to gate now, will prob have to wail a bit for my bike so I call ya when I got ma bags
NANNY: OK leaving home now!
FLATMATE: Sweet should work out perfect
Arrive 20 minutes later, I arrive at the airpaort, no sign of him, at pick-up, ok where is he. Quick call
“Honey, where are you”
“They are having a problem with my bags”
“Yeh, but were about’s are you?”
“Baggage 3″
“Meet you in 2″ I have 10 minutes of free parking before I get slugged $10. Fighting the pedestrian traffic at Sydney Airport can be a challenge for anyone, but I am on tight schedule here, meet the flatmate, collect his bags, grab his bike, load it up on top of the car, and be out of here in 10 minute flat! Here goes….I have 5mins left, still cant find him, as I look for a tall dark, legs to die for, handsome….cool spotted, thank god he is ‘6′ 2.
As I poke he in the back, he turned around, my god he looked like shit. Still cute though. But what can you expect from someone who spent Christmas and New Year cycling around Tassie and camping beside a road.
“Hey” he said he as his whole face lit up like a Christmas tree. As I was wondered whether I should kiss that. “they are still having problems with my bike”
“Ok, I have 5mins left before I get slugged” I said as I grad his bag “I’ll take this, meet you in the car park in about 5mins”
“Where abouts is it?”
“Just right at the end at the boom gates, where the taxis enter, the carpark behind that” I said
He looked very puzzled.
“I have to go I have 3min left, If you are not there I will drive around the block” I said as I was walking backwards, before I made a quick dash back to the car. As I drove up to the boom gate, just missing two cars in my wake. I made it. Thanks god. I really don’t feel like contribution $10 to MacBank today, when a few years ago the paid the CEO $30 million bucks!
As I drove around the block I spotted the Flatmate walking out of the airport. I thought Good I only have to drive around once. As I entered the carpark for the second time today, the flatmate was no where to been seen. “God, where is he?” I mumbled, wondering if I should have paid the the $10 dollars just to hold his hand. As I parked the car while looking around for him we both spotted one another immediately and smiled. As the flatmate approaches the car, while carrying his bike in a box, I get the car ready, I open all doors to my Rav 4, and get the straps ready to put the bike on top of the roof racks.
“Thanks for picking me up” he said as the puts the bike on top of the car.
“That is ok, it’s not a problem” as we work together with the straps, he does one side I do the other.
“How was it?” I asked as I threw back the last strap for him to tie, and walked around to the other side of the car
“Great”
“Here, I’ll let you tie this one” I said “I don’t want to be responsible if the bike falls off”
He laughs “Yeh, that is cool. I can do that” he saids as he flashes me the biggest grin, while fixing the last strap. “Done”
“All set?” I asked while closing the car doors
“All set”
“Lets go home”
